Medical Supported Detoxification Treatment

Most drug and all alcohol addictions require a phase of detoxification at the start of the rehabilitation process. When a person takes a drug or consumes alcohol regularly, the body becomes accustomed to having certain levels of the substance in it. Once the substance is removed, the body may begin to experience withdrawal symptoms. Depending on the substance used, withdrawal symptoms can even start to appear within a couple hours, though they usually tend to appear within the first 24 hours after the last drug dose.

In PRAPTI WELFARE SOCIETY, when patient was admitted, he was kept under the clinical staff for a minimum period of 15 days. Our General physician and residential clinical staff monitor the patient's health status continously around the clock. It can take days or months to get through withdrawal symptoms for most drugs. The length of withdrawal depends on the type of drugs and how heavily they were used.

Our medical team screens incoming patients for physical and mental health issues. Doctors use blood tests (If Required, in some cases) to checkup any severe phsical health issue. Our Doctors prescribes addiction treatment medications to prevent complications and reduce withdrawal symptoms (If Needed).

There is also a comprehensive review of drug, medical and psychiatric histories. This information helps us to set up the basis for the patient’s long-term treatment plan.
